Competition

Competitive shooting can help develop skills that are useful for defensive situations, but it shouldn't replace self-defense training:

Gun handling: Competition shooting can help improve grip, draw, presentation, mechanical manipulations, and retaining control of the gun.

Marksmanship: Competition shooting can help improve marksmanship skills.

Mindset and decision making: Competitive shooting can help develop making quick shots under stress.

Stress training: Competition shooting can help you learn to think and react in high-pressure situations.

Real-life situations: Competition shooting can put you in situations you might not otherwise encounter, which can help you prepare for real life.
